Republic competition in chemistry for high school students

The 56th national chemistry competition for high school students was held in Belgrade from May 8 to 12, 2021, organized by the Serbian Chemical Society and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. The host was the Technological and Metallurgical Faculty of the University of Belgrade. The competition was a complete success and took place in a pleasant atmosphere. The Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy organized this competition for the first time and was a successful organizer. Prizes for the most successful competitors were provided by the Serbian Chemical Society.

54 first grade students, 51 second grade students and 49 third and fourth grade students participated in the Test and experimental exercises category. In the Test and independent research category, 2 students of the 1st and 2nd grades and 4 students of the 3rd and 4th grades participated. The following were engaged in the preparation and jury of the competition: Dr. Dušan Sladić, Dr. Niko Radulović, Vidak Raičević, Dr. Irena Novaković, Dr. Aleksandra Dapčević, Dr. Aleksandra Margetić, Dr. Đenđi Vaštag, Dr. Jelena Mutić, Dr. Filip Bihelović, Dr. Dragana Živojinović, Dr. Nemanja Trišović, Srdjan Tufegdžić, Miloš Pešić and Gordana Krstić. Excellent results were achieved, thanks to the good work of the competitors and mentors. A group of competitors for the Serbian Chemistry Olympiad was also selected at the competition. Ten first-place competitors from III and IV grades in the test and experimental exercise category, as well as two first-place competitors from II grade in the same category, were placed. We list the awarded and commended students in all competition categories, the names of the schools and places they came from, as well as the names of the mentors who prepared the students for this competition.
