Former president of the Serbian Chemical Society, prof. Dr. Ivanka Popović, elected vice-president of the European Association of Universities

We proudly inform you that Prof. Dr. Ivanka Popović, former president of the Serbian Chemical Society and former rector of the University of Belgrade, as well as current professor of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, was elected vice-president of the European Association of Universities (EUA). By the way, Ivanka Popović was proposed for EUA president last year after she was nominated by the Austrian, Hungarian and Slovenian rectors’ conference, but Josep Garel, former rector of Ramon Llull University (Spain), was elected to that position. However, at the constitutive session of the new convocation of the Board of Directors, held at the beginning of July this year, Ivanka Popović and Paul Boyle, rector of Swansea University (Great Britain), were unanimously elected as vice-presidents. This is the first time that someone from this region holds such a high position in the EUA. More details can be found at https://eua.eu/news.html. The Serbian Chemical Society congratulates Prof. Dr. Ivanka Popović’s election to a new position!!!
